Gamma Knife Radiosurgery

Gamma Knife Radiosurgery is an advanced radiation therapy that uses a combination of precisely focused, finely tuned radiation beams to treat specific areas with unparalleled accuracy. Delivered in a single session, this noninvasive alternative to traditional surgery enhances patient well-being during and after the procedure. It is nearly pain-free, requires minimal or no anesthesia, has few side effects, and is often performed as an outpatient treatment. Most patients can resume their regular activities within a few days.

Stereotactic Radiosurgery

Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) is a noninvasive medical procedure that utilizes highly accurate radiation delivery to address brain conditions such as tumors, arteriovenous malformations (AVM), and certain functional disorders. When applied to areas outside the brain, it is referred to as stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) or stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR).

SRS treatments are typically administered using one of the following technologies:

  • Gamma Knife
  • Linear Accelerator (Linac) with SRS capability
  • Proton Beam Therapy

This method is increasingly preferred as an alternative to other therapeutic approaches for managing cancer and neurological disorders. Leveraging Elekta’s state-of-the-art radiosurgery advancements, treatment teams can offer highly personalized and efficient care to meet the evolving needs of their patients.
